My own interview

Earlier today, I decided to ask someone else what they thought about the healthcare bill.  The individual I chose to ask, is neither conservative or liberal. He would consider himself moderate; therefore I thought he would be a good pick.

I wanted to know his feelings on the bill and if he would like to see the bill pass.  This individual is single, educated, paid his way through school and is in the working world making an average salary.

He told me that healthcare system we have now is a problem. For many years before he has his job, he did not have health insurance, so a simple visit to see a doctor was not affordable. He agrees with the president in the sense that something must be done about the healthcare system to make it to where is something happens it does not ruin a family financially if they dont have insurance. However, he does not approve of Obama’s plan.  He expressed concern about long lines and abuse of the system if everything is “free”, he said.  He is concerned about the quality of the healthcare system if the bill passes and  his inability to get service even though he is/has been contributing to the system for years.

The bottom line is, he is not convinced.  He does agree that things do need to be changed, but social healthcare is not the way to do it. I enjoyed our discussion and appreciated his points.

An outside meeting

Today, a rare meeting took place.  Obama met with the democrats of the Senate today to encourage them and ask for their vote on his healthcare bill.  Every one of their votes is necessary for the bill to pass.

Two main issues divide them: the public option, and funding for abortion.  The President didn’t discuss such issues or how they should work towards a comprimise, but focused on getting the 60 votes needed to block a republican filibuster.

The president is hard at work to get this bill passed. We must keep writing our represenatives and using our voices to stand up for liberty and and democracy.

His own words

On the president’s very own website- barackobama.com, there is a healthcare section where Americans can sign up to tell their members of congress to sign the healthcare bill.  Under the particular option, are Barack’s own words of promise.

“It will provide more security and stability to those who have health insurance.
It will provide insurance to those who don’t. And it will lower the cost of health care for our families, our businesses, and our government.”
– PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

Considering Barack Obama has done practically NOTHING that he said he was going to do on his campaign trail, what makes me, or any other American for that matter have confidence in his words. Why are we putting so much trust in a man with such little experience, and a man who has no substantial record of proving himself to be our president.  Many are now entrusting him with trillions of dollars that will be a burden to our children and grandchildren. He is a HUGE spender. His worshiped stimulus package obviously didnt work. Check out the latest number of Americans out of a job.

It is time to stop putting our faith in a few men a government, and start putting it back in the people of America. It is time to start to listen to what the people are saying.

We all want healthcare. But it is not a right, it is earned through hard work and commitment to something. It is time to stop giving free handouts and instill in our citizens hard work and determination. Isn’t this what made America so great?

God Bless America.

49% say NO

The latest Gallup polls show that the majority of American’s would advise the representative to vote against the healthcare bill. (http://www.gallup.com/poll/124496/Americans-Leaning-Against-Healthcare-Legislation.aspx)

49% say that they would advise their member to vote against the healthcare bill.

44% say that they would advise their member to vote in favor of the healthcare bill

This is the highest percentage of the population that has been taken in a poll against the bill since the healthcare debate started.

It is positive news that the support is decreasing, however strong votes in the senate were not very encouraging.  We gotta keep spreading the word about this anti-American bill and keep working to prevent this from being passed.

God Bless America.

Anti-health reform

According to washingtonpost.com a anti-healthcare reform group is launching a 1 million dollar ad campaign to pursuade key senators to vote aganist the healthcare bill.

It is run by the advocacy group, Institue for Liberty. The ads are targeting 5 democratic senators in more conservative states.

The senators the ads will be targeting are:

-Blanche Lincoln of Arkanas

-Mary Landrieu of Lousania

-Ben Nelson of Nebraska

-Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan of North Dakota

We should watch out for ads, not only aganist the healthcare reform, but also for the healthcare reform. Both sides of the debate are to spend a total of 170  million on ads concerning the healthcare debate.  This is a ton of money trying to persuade important people, as well at the people.  Stay informed.

Sick facts.

On americanthinker.com, I found a few facts that people dont think about when it comes the the healthcare debate. YUCK.

  • By 52 percent to 40 percent, voters are opposed to the healthcare bill introduced on July 14 to the House of Representatives.
  • Independents now oppose ObamaCare by a ratio of almost 2:1.
  • The World Health Organization ranked the United States No. 1 out of 191 countries for being responsive to patients’ needs, including providing timely treatments and a choice of doctors. Among those currently insured, 84% are satisfied with their healthcare. But if you’re happy, don’t get too comfortable: ObamaCare will force people to change their insurance.
  • Team Obama says the CBO has failed to account for plans to reduce waste and cut services. Unfortunately, reducing waste would account for only about 1% of ObamaCare ”savings.” Any other potential savings would have to come from reductions in patient care services.
  • In its “keep the plan deficit-neutral” charade, the Obama Administration indicates that it is counting on reductions in patient care in the form of cuts to the Medicare health program for the elderly. However, the American Medical Association, in its controversial letter of support for the Democrats’ plan, thanks House leaders for repealing $230 billion of Medicare cuts.

OPEN YOUR EYES.  Who is on the side of the people?

GOD BLESS AMERICA.
